Hey all. Figured I'd stop in and say hi to everyone. Now that I'm too old for rock 'n' roll, I'm making my transition back to electronic music. Haha.
I've been a musician for as long as I can remember, picking up the guitar when I was very young.
I also always had a passion for anything technological. In the mid 80's when I was about 6, I heard Wendy Carlos's "Switch on Bach" and it blew my little brain right out of it's skull.
The image of the odd looking machine on the cover of the album fit so well with the almost scary sounds of the various timbres blaring out of my friend's record player.
He told me that machine was a 'synthesizer', just like that little Casio keyboard he had that we could sample fart noises into and make hilarious songs with.
In my early teen years I was playing in little punk, grunge and metal bands, all the while tinkering about with junky synthesizers and sound programs on my Commodore 64.
Then in my 20's I took rock music a tad more seriously, completely giving up any kind of experimental electronic music I had been working on.
Now, in my mid 30's, I've settled down with wife and kids, and can't really run around in a punk band and take care of a family properly.
With that creative output gone, the electronic itch started to return. So that basically brings me to where I am now. Sinking money into gear to try
to find my 'sound', haha!
I'm excited to be creating again and to connect with some people doing that same. I know a few of you have already become familiar somewhat with my
current project on Soundcloud, and I invite all to check out my progress on my Soundcloud page.
