Hello everybody,
I'm neuzd from Turin, north-west Italy, and I've been interested in extreme music since I was a kid in the late '80s.
These forums look pretty nice, and I'm really happy to have found this place.
It all happened thanks to forum member Ian Haygreen: he left a like on a track of mine on soundcloud, so I went and checked out who this kind person with such fantastic musical taste was. Browsing through his songs I came about the track he made for the "One Sample Dare 27" and thought that the concept of the challenge was brilliant so, here I am : D
I've been making music mostly in different genres of extreme rock (most of which have been HC-punk), but I've been involved in electronic music since the mid '90s, when I was struggling to fit the most sounds I could in my 4-voices Amiga 1200.
Fast forward to about one year ago, I was somehow struck by inspiration and decided that when I grow up I want to do dark ambient music!
There are a couple of projects I've been working on, both intentionally minimalistic in the sounds textures I'm going to paint.
One, Venus Martian, has been well defined since its inception, and is mostly drone/dark-ambient with a sci-fi theme (horror/sci-fi, when I nail the atmosphere).
A second, less extreme work (well, at least in the songs length) is going to be released in a few weeks.
The other project has proven to be more difficult to pull-out. The scope is lo-fi industrial rhythms and dark-ambient (with a grittier, more industrial feel than Venus Martian). I still haven't decided on a name, and I'm not sure on how to bring it out of its current shapeless form. Anyway, I've been publishing demos of these experiments on soundcloud, along with some other uncontextualized noises.
...if you didn't notice, when I say dark-ambient I mean the darkestest(-est).
: D
I look forward to learn a lot in terms of sound design from here, I'm pretty sure of the atmospheres I craft, but I perfectly know I lack A LOT when it comes to sound desing, blancing of frequencies and all that isn't anymore about me turning knobs or putting samples together, but about listeners trying to enjoy the experience.
Thanks again to Ian Haygreen, for making me discover this place, and see you all soon.
(Oh, and sorry for the awful pun in the thread title: this is the Mole Antonelliana, major landmark of my city)
