  • Hello From Market Harborough, UK!

    From my Nimbit Music Profile:

"Hypnotic Soundscapes is an arm of the Hypno-Systems UK Multimedia Division; created specifically for the exploration of an experimental Sound Design form of which initial testing has found to have a beneficial meditative effect on listeners to the audio versions thereof, and also viewers of the video versions thereof.

The founder of Hypno-Systems UK, Jocelyn L. H. Jensen C.Ht, Dip. Hyp, is a Certified Hypnotherapist of nearly half a century's hypnotic experience. As such she constantly pushes the envelope of the definitions of how any one person can reach a hypnotic state. Traditional formal hypnosis, music, rhythm, binaurals and Tone Stacks all comprise her arsenal of hypnotic tools."

Thus, I am many things besides a Musician; wife, mother of adult children and grandmother of 8, about to be 9. I found this site through its Twitter Feed and I think it may be the best online forum I've found for Ambient Music since the death of the Encyclotronic forum.

    My Primary YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/Hypnosystemsuk

    My Bandcamp: http://hypnoticsoundscapes.bandcamp.com

My Nimbit Music: http://www.nimbitmusic.com/hypnoticsoundscapes (Each audio outlet holds a different catalog segment)

My composer page at Shockwave Sound: https://www.shockwave-sound.com/brow...jocelyn-jensen

Finally my newest project; The Fractal Galaxy Suites: http://thefractalgalaxysuites.vhx.tv

Looking forward to contributing what I can, and getting to know the membership. I'm more of a "fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants" sound designer than a traditional digital musician.

I'm intrigued by that line; so more of the "old school" physical sound creation school (hitting lamp shades, messing with tapes and all that)? Care to share your methods?
Latest release: never to be repeated

Welcome to the AO forums. I hope you enjoy your visits.

I like the idea of being a traditional digital musician, particularly if that involves tea and scones

Actually a bit more "exotic" than that. I use several sound generation methods, including playing Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls, and using Tone Generator software to create literal tone stacks which are then transcribed to MIDI before having VSTi's applied to them. Lately I've been exploring various Fractal Music programs which output to MIDI, and again applying VSTi's to the output of same. When I have several tracks which will sound good together to my own ears, I mix them in either Adobe Soundbooth, Magix Samplitude Pro X Silver, Adobe Audition, Studio One, or MOTU's Digital Performer, depending on what DAW features I plan to use.

I've also been known to transcribe a completed mix back to MIDI just to see if it sounds good enough with instruments re-applied to become a new base track.

Thanks to all for the very warm welcome!

Hi Jocelyn, I am developing a programme for distribution online, which will require background music for hypnosis recordings. Please tell me more about what you could possibly offer me for this project.
              Thanks
              Tracy
