Hello everyone, I found this forum and decided to join the community. As a music lover, I've been listening to ambient music for decades. I got introduced to Jean Michel Jarre, Vangelis, and Tangerine Dream through a friend in high-school in the 1980s. I like exploring other genres from time to time, and that's taken me to many interesting sounds, including Indian ragas, Byzantine chant, IDM, and Psybient.
I've always liked making music as a hobby as well, and for many years I've been singing and playing guitar. Recently I've picked up Reaper and some VST plugins and have started exploring producing electronic music. I feel I have much to learn, so I haven't published anything yet. But I'm inspired and want to delve deeper into this.
For the past several years I've been making a living by teaching English in China (which is an interesting experience all by itself), and that comes with the benefit of having some long holidays, which I fully intend to fill with music.
