Strange drones and smooth waves have led me to land here.
I am rather discret and sorta shy person, not being very verbose or talkative on the forums usually but ambient holds a special place to me feeling it as the most natural music of universe and remain my favorite subject of discussion
Ambient was rather unknown to me (except stuff from movies or documentaries every now and then, I didn't have internet acces back then) until my late teenagehood, for fun I liked to slow down various intrumental tracks (400% or more) diving into the bass, savouring the very slow motion and the slightest variation.
I was pretty sure I would be the only to appreciate this apparent silent music.
I somewhat share the same approach as Wieland Samolak :
After having an internet acces at some point I was looking for quieter and quieter dowtempo music (Mysteries of The Yeti, Solar Quest, Ishq)
When on some short and dark day of November 2003 I stumbled upon Oƶphoi.
This was a lifechanger, musically speaking, the same difference between hearing and listening music.
A few month later, a couple of friends told me to try ambient on my own, I was very surprised it was rather well received and others than myself can appreciate this kind of music.
And there I am, more than a decade after still playing with these strange droning companions and psychedelic whispers
If you're curious to hear how it sounds like links are in my signature (bandcamp account shall be more populated soon)
Anyway hello to the conoisseurs and appreciators of this beautiful music !
Dronely yours.

When I was a teenager I used to sit on an empty field listening for hours to the sounds of distant cars, railroads, helicopters, and other motorized objects. These sounds, which are very rough and noisy when they are near, attracted me from the distance because they had merged and diffused into a continuum when they reached my ears.
