  • Hello from mikusan

I'm introducing myself after making several other posts already but hey - I'm a rulebreaker :D

I've been a fan of ambient music since last century, and I've been making music for about the same length of time (about 35 yrs). My first 'rig' was a Casio keyboard, a 'doctored' transistor radio, an Aria electric guitar, and a Teac reel-to-reel tape recorder. Boy, it was hard work making 'sound-on-sound' recordings...

Nowadays I use Reaper as my DAW, various VSTs, a few real guitars and a bit of real percussion to make music. Much easier in most respects, but anything computer-related brings its own problems, as I'm sure we all know.

I'm currently finishing my first album (2 more tracks to go!!) which is a mixture of styles, including ambient. I'm also planning my next album, which will be another 'concept' album, but entirely ambient this time. I enjoy listening to and making music in a wide variety of genres, but it's fair to say Ambient is the style I understand/relate to the most.

You can hear my stuff on Soundcloud - here's a link to my page:

I can't wait to hear your album!

I played bass about 18 years ago, but had to give it up due to carpel tunnel-like symptoms (never officially diagnosed), so computer music is heaven-sent for me.

Thank you for adding some of your tracks to our SoundCloud group! I hope we have more members adding their tracks soon!

    Oh, and WELCOME! :tu:

 Hey Tim, likewise - I dunno, I seem to be getting less and less 'me-time' lately. When I bought my wife a laptop last Christmas, that did the trick for a while - maybe I'll get her a tablet PC this year :D

Welcomè to the website! Had a listen to your work, and I am impressed with your sound design work! I like the idea of Concept albums too, i think my favourite one was Nine Inch Nails The Downward Spiral.

Anything that tells a story is awesome!

              Cheers
