Hello everyone!
S1gnsOfL1fe asked me to introduce myself. Why not?
So, I'm 19yo guy from Yekaterinburg, Russia. I'm writing various electronic music, mostly soft and atmospheric, for 4-5 years. Besides that, I have some guitar experience and know some basic music theory.
My only DAW is Renoise, I find it extremely comfortable for any kind of music. I just love this piece of software
Almost all of the samples I use are free. I prefer "raw" sounds, i.e vintage breaks and drum machine samples. They're easy to process and layer, and it helps me to find my own sound a lot. Besides that, I use my own recordings.
As for plugins, I've tried a lot of them and now I don't really have any "all-time" favorites. I heavily used Synth1 in my recent tracks, awesome VA synth, yet it's free. Really digging epicVerb, TAL-Dub series and native Renoise devices. Right now I really like Z3TA+2 for its interface and sonic power, even though I didn't use it anywhere yet. I'm sure I will.
Few words about my musical tastes. They're wide and there are a lot of ambient and ambient-related music as well. My favorite ambient artists are Carbon Based Lifeforms, 36 and Boards of Canada. I'm listening to post-rock, trip-hop, IDM and many other music genres as well.
And, well, my music.
This is the forum about ambient, so I'll pick the tracks that are most strongly related to ambient. Feel free to visit my Soundcloud for more.
