  • Alpha Wave Movement - Polyphasic Music (sleep music)

    polyphasic front v4 flat.jpg

Harmonic Resonance Recordings would like to introduce the latest Alpha Wave Movement album "Polyphasic Music"

The concept of this music is the sleep cycle (which is poly/multi leveled process the body executes when engaged in the sleep cycle) and drawing one into a quiet listening space away from the chatter of bits and bytes and standard "urban" forced noise distractions.

Music to quiet the mind and bring one into a relaxed state of being.

The music was improvised with zero use of computers to assist in composition. There are some arpeggios utilizing the Nord Leads built in arpeggiator but quantization, sampled loops etc are nowhere to be found.

I purposely tried to create a direct minimalist approach unencumbered with the on-slaught of rhythmic distractions and instead chose an organic connection that balances human and machine/electronic instrument.

Available on CD and digital download. Please click on the image to take you directly to the HRR website where you can listen to and purchase the album.

If you are a dj or music reviewer please feel free to pm or email me for a promo copy.

Loving the intro track! I changed my studio setup some time ago to wean myself off of 'p.c. dependence', meaning I wanted to get back to hardware-based recording, which affords a more 'organic' and fluid approach. There are times when you just want to create pure sound without all the DAW stuff.

You've done a marvelous job with this album, my hat's off to you!

Thank you! Sitting in front of a PC to make all the music is tiresome and just lacks the instant tactile interaction for me at least, not disliking software based synths and sequencers but sometimes its nice to pair it all down to essentials. Takes me all of 2 minutes from power up of the 2-3 boards + mixer to start the creative muse going. Unfortunately the laptop takes the longest to boot and even then I am not truly 100% to this day inspired by software synthesizer(audio quality is on par just the interface isnt quite what I like).
