  • Coming soon on patchpool: Scattered Entity Vol. 1 for MachFive 3

Scattered Entity Vol. 1 is the first library in a series of releases for MachFive 3. Over time a universe of sounds for this extremely versatile electronic instrument will be created, combining the beauty and natural expression of acoustic instruments with the miracles of electronic sound design.

    Content Vol. 1:
Roundabout 4+ GB of original samples (wav/stereo/48 Khz/24 Bit).
110+ patches/instruments combining all synthesis methods available in MachFive.

    • Multisampled instruments, pure and twisted

      *Evolving pads

      *Vocal texures

      *Experimental textures

      *Cinematic and ominous soundscapes

      *Complex sequencers

      *Processed field recordings

*Orchestral sounds derived from orchestral recordings of my own music

    Sampled Instruments:
    • *Celtic harp with 27 strings - multisampled with several velocity layers and round robin, harp glissandi, prepared harp samples

      *Timpani

      *Waterphone

      *Other string instruments (violin, piano)

      *Woodwinds

*Chromatic and achromatic percussion (Thai gongs, Tamtam, bowed and beaten vibraphone, Glockenspiel, tibetan singing bowls, djembe and more)

About 20 patches will have custom scripting for extended sound manipulation features and a user interface, the non-scripted patches will have the 8 Macros assigned in the info tab.

ETA: first half of Novembre 2013

    Delivery: Download

Price on release (paypal): € 75 Euro, pre-order Scattered Entity for € 60 now and save 20%.

Please note: this library requires the full version of MachFIve 3, it will not work with the UVI workstation.

All demos below were produced entirely with MachFive 3 using only patches from Scattered Entity Vol. 1, no post-processing was applied apart from a limiter on the outputs and some volume automation, if several instances of MachFive were used in a track. If a demo does use 3rd party reverb, it will be mentioned in the track title.

And to compensate for the evilness, here is a smooth Voxpad, mixing normal sampling with granular sampling and a synth module for the low bass notes.

Demo for "Granular Harp Flagos", tweaking the 8 available Macros on the fly while playing - quite beautiful...

Today I got another beautiful sound bowl (the second from the left) to extend my collection, I will make a multisampled soundbowl-tamtam patch for MachFive/Scattered Entity with several velocities and round robins, also rubbing the bowls with the beater for meditative drones - normal sampling and granular, maybe mixing it with some synth modules.

Here comes a first demo with a singing bowl rubbed (the long sample has an accent at the end when moving the beater away rom the bowl), controlling sample speed with the Modwheel and drive with a Macro.

The demo is 100% MachFive 3:

Demo for MachFive 3-patch "Singing Bowl Synth" - multisampled singing bowl, 2 velocity layers, 3x round robin mixed with an FM synth module which rebuilds the harmonic structure of the singing bowl. 4 Macros (assigned to various FX) and the Modwheel (Pitchmod) were tweaked while playing.

Here is a demo combining 6 patches Scattered Entity - 6 instances of M5, 100% MachFive 3, some volume automation in this demo:

And here comes a demo for the patch "Singing Bowls Trio Split" - 3 differently sized singing bowls, multisampled at 3 vel layers and 3x round robin - split across the keyboard. This will be a scripted patch where each bowl has dedicated controls for random tuning, micro tuning, amplitude modulation (with different LFO shapes and speed control), pan modulation - and a lot of controls for the FX too.

                    Improvising wildly here:

I really like the sound of the last demo you posted. Are these going to be available for anything other than MachFive?

Maybe I'll make some excerpts for Kontakt after the release, but these sounds mostly rely on the features available in M5 concerning the sculpting/modulation of the samples. We'll see...

And a demo for the patch "Muted Bowl Synth" - multisampled muting of a large singing bowl (finger muting), 2 velocity layers, 3x round robin also using the same set of samples as release samples in granular mode, mixed with a FM synth module. This will also be a scripted patch with lots of options to modify the sound, e.g. the behaviour and volume of release samples and the FM synth.

Improvising with the 1st draft of the MachFive patch "Celtic Harp" - multisampled celtic harp at 3 velocities and 4x round robin per string - harp was tuned to C-major while sampling it, all 7 notes per octave were sampled. In this instrument the high range from F4-G5 is still missing (still 108 samples to edit and map), the low range was extended down to C1 (natural limitation of the harp is B1) by copying the samples from the octaves above. Only some Spark Reverb from MachFive was used in this demo.

Two new patches in this demo, one of them being an "Impulse Response Synth" with 12 keyswitchable strange Impulse Responses triggered by an Impulse Synth (combining noise bursts and fm synth). This will be a scripted patch too with many options to shape the responses and impulses.

                              100% MachFive in the demo.
