  • Dying Bees - "These Last Days" (Featuring: Toaster & S1gns Of L1fe)

Toaster and I started a little side project called "Dying Bees" awhile back and we've finally released our first EP "These Last Days." The idea behind the group was to take our two very distinctly different styles and mesh them into one and see what happens. The result is a very surprising and entertaining blend of the beat driven style of Toaster with the melodic arpeggio and deep pad signature of S1gns Of L1fe.

Below is the PR text from the album. It's available now on Bandcamp as a very limited edition CD and digital name-your-price download.

    Cheers and enjoy,
    Toaster & S1gns

    -

We've heard it all before… the end is near, the bees are dying by the millions, populations around the globe are doomed. Scientists work around the clock to save our own species from the impending natural apocalypse more deadly than global warming. Whatever the case may be, ambient musicians and part-time collaborators Todd Elliott (Toaster) and Chris Bryant (Ascendant / S1gns Of L1fe) have come together as the group "Dying Bees" to save humanity once and for all with their new EP "These Last Days." Journey with them as they explore the rhythmic side of ambient music with a beat driven, bass heavy instant classic that's guaranteed to bring about the end. Can the Dying Bees save the world? Join them on their quest and find out.

"These Last Days" is available now as a digital name-your-price download as well as a limited edition handcrafted compact disc embellished with beeswax.

I really like the work you guys did on this EP. I think it has a "post-rock/ambient" sound and is a fitting sound for the 'looming apocalypse/end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it' theme you've chosen.
          Great work guys!

Thank you Bruce! It's a fun project, for sure. I always tell Todd (Toaster) that Dying Bees is my "experimental" side of production. I tend to let loose when I'm working on these tracks, just have fun with it, and experiment just to see what happens. The result is what you've heard here. I quite like it myself too. Glad you are enjoying it!

            Cheers,
            -S1gns

Very cool. Interesting layers of post-rock beat, organ drone and textures. Nicely done!

                      Good work, guys.

I think my favourite tracks are "Wine Codex" and "Affinity", but the entire EP is of a consistent, high quality.

It fills my black little heart (S1gns is the positive one in the band) with joy to hear so many nice things being said about our work!

I'd love to tell you that they came from great mysterious source, but they were a drunken eBay purchase. "I'll totally use them for... something..." I said. I have.
