Currently I´m focussing on process management inside our company, so we are reorganizing our structures.

      • I'm a software developer, focused on data engineering for the last 10 years.
I used to do photography as a hobby, until I got into music. I hope I can find some time to do a bit of that again.

        • i normally would not comment on this type of thread, but this is very interesting reading. especially since some of these posts go back 6 years. i wonder how many of you had career changes since your first post.
my career started in mental health as a crisis counselor, then to employment counseling. switched gears and started counseling/advocating on a senior helpline for about 12 years to my current gig as a medicaid analyst.
i have messed around with ambient music for about 20 years. if you met me, you would never know i try to create ambient music. i feel people just don't really care about it, so i don't mention it. around here if the music does have guitars and vocals, no one cares to listen. posting on sites with like-minds is easier for me.
AO rekindled my interest in creating and sharing. i have really enjoyed the challenge of contributing tracks to the AO compilations. to be on the same track-list with all of you is an honor. there is so much talent here and it is fun hearing how everyone interprets the current "theme."

          • I have no day job as such, haven't for several years. I survive on rent and a bit of interest/growth on a stock portfolio. Thank god I was studious and saved like a demon so I own my own unit.

I understand about looking after an ASD person. I try to do that for myself. Some days seem harder than others. I had my Mother here for a while but that got too hard.

I make a few scraps of coin here & there from bit-work Composing, Mix Engineer work, or occasionally making a simple Video. Sadly mostly that is for insulting rates on ghastly projects via Upwork or Fiverr. I have instituted a No Rap policy as that only ever ends in tears. That said I have had a few things worth showing like a Film. A Song I just did the vocal mix for has racked up over 8,000 views on YouTube when someone picked it up and put it on their roster. This one I did mix, added sfx, and made the video. Sadly he isn't interested in showing it - it was a vanity project no more.

            • I am a writer by profession. I write blogs for my employer.
Music is my hobby. But Writing is my passion.
There is not much difference between the two.
Music is a way of expressing yourself and so is writing.
I have been inclined toward Arts since the time I was a boy.

              Thanks for asking.

              • Right now I work part-time as an archivist for a german broadcasting corporation while also persuing a master's degree in history with, focusing on the early modern period.
Apart from that and music I enjoy baking and cooking, watching stupid shows on Netflix and educating myself about stuff I don't know all that much about (ever since the SpaceX launch a few days ago I'm neck deep into space travel and its history. Never really paid too much attention to it, but watching the launch sparked some healthy curiosity and put me on an extensive book-buying-spree)

                • I'm a university student and research nerd. I left a career in IT to try something different, fell in love with a very different field and decided to switch gears. 28 and a 3rd year in an undergrad degree program. I am planning to immediately go back for my masters

I also enjoy weightlifting. I used to be a competitive powerlifter but an MVA has changed my active leisure a fair bit, which is funny because leisure is exactly what I study! I have a budget home gym in my rec room, sometimes me and my wife lift there together.

                  • Aside from the other things I mentioned earlier, I got into building computer systems in 1997, when I built my own system- the first operating system I ever installed was Windows NT 4.0.

I have been building and upgrading systems ever since, and recently I upgraded to an Asus TUF Gaming rig with WiFi and Bluetooth, 64 GB of DDR4 ram, and an AMD Ryzen 7 3700X processor. Installed my first liquid cooling unit with this build, A Cooler Master with RGB lighting. Is it just me or does it seem like PC components have gotten way more expensive in the last couple of years? This build was around $870, but hopefully, I won't need to upgrade again for another four years or so.

                    • I have actually been pretty busy in the last few months with a Podcast with looooong episodes (the current one is 3 hours), some Mixes (which worked out great), and I got asked to make a series of videos for God Rocker which has been a great experience as the client is so respectful and encouraging for me to do my things.

There have been a few product launches too. ReFills and a VST pack.

                      • right now i'm working on internet (micro-jobs, gaming for some bucks and delivery things around the city with delivery apps).

Very interesting and ironic considering that right now I am working on an EP that reflects on virtual spaces and the internet
