Soundcloud: blocking followers who follow you only to get a follow back?

You all know what I'm talking about (I guess): you check your notifications and some guys/galls are following you. Fine, but: some of them didn't like or comment your tracks and almost for sure didn't listen to them in the first place. Above that: their musical taste is far from yours. So: they probably either randomly clicked a few dozens/hundreds of users or used a bot only in the hopes to get followers back. Well, that's my guess...

I personally follow a user after I liked and/or commented at least one of his tracks and ofcourse I always follow back if I can tell someone is really interested in my music and I think his music is interesting to me (or at least "valuable" in some other way, e.g. very original). Anyway: there has to be some kind of connection.

So my question: what do you do with those kind of users? Do you block them or maybe you think by yourself: the more followers the better? A few weeks ago I already blocked a dozen of them to clean up my "followers" page.

BTW: There are ofcourse also the kind of users who don't post tracks themselves (call them "listeners"?). I guess those follow you because they are genuinely interested in your work, or am I mistaken here?

Some can be genuine listeners, but some are just trying to build up a following of their own, for whatever reason.

I usually do not follow back unless they have actually listened and seem to be making a small effort in curating selections for their followers to check out. I haven't blocked unless it was something like User43719 and has a picture of a half-dressed woman way too hot to be interested in my music.

I do not block users regardless if they are following me or not.
On the other hand I only follow users who have uploaded some music I like.

Interesting detail: the most downloading users on my soundcloud profile are anonymous
and my most downloaded track in my opinion is the most cheapest trash I ever recorded. :razz:

The only ones I block are the "we can get you more sound cloud followers for a fee" repost scams. I only follow those whose music I genuinely like.

Yeah, I stopped blocking (did it once) the followers who only make "trap" or "hip hop" or "chill house" or whatever and although I almost certainly know they just follow you (bot or not) in the hopes to get a follow back (which they don't), I leave it this way. Maybe their bots will eventually automatically unfollow me if they don't get a follow back within 1 month or so... :nuts:

Anyway, after 3 months or so on Soundcloud I really developed a kind of love-hate relationship with it (it's the only social medium I'm active on BTW). Love the sincerity of like minded musicians and hate the hollow, empty minded (sometimes or often bot driven) users who are mostly or only in it for reputation or even worse: spamming for promoting bots or other dubious causes.
