Yep. They had a handful of hits in the UK back in the 80s. Some of it's pretty good stuff, but it does sound quite dated now.

Yes, they were quite big in '84-'86, then I lost track of them. I still like Paranoimia.

Yep, I still have a couple albums of their floating around somewhere in the house.

I grew up with them. Their version of Peter Gunn's theme is a master piece.

They sure made the CMI Fairlite sound good!

Of it's time definitely, not sure I'd exactly say dated though... Maybe in the way Kraftwerk are 'timeless' but AoN are easily pegged as early 80s?

Moments in Love is still a gorgeous track, I'd recommend 'Who's afraid of the art of noise' to anyone interested in 'electronic' music (whatever that means nowadays )

Definitely. Awful lyrics though - just don't fit the backing track.

HUGE Art of Noise fan here! Their use of sampling and unusual twists relative to pop music were deeply influential to me as I began "paying attention" to music as a child. I believe the very first cassette I purchased with my own money was "Into Battle with the Art of Noise".

Not heard much of their music, but I do have "The History Mix" by Godley and Creme on Vinyl - IIRC, AoN's JJ Jeczalic cut up loads of their old 10cc hits and turned it into something a bit like Jive Bunny (only orders of magnitude better)

Wasn't Lol Creme a member of AoN at one point?
