  • Arptron & Reaktor 6

Hey I have been having a weird problem with this lovely instrument http://www.vstplanet.com/News/08/Arptron.htm Before I got my new computer it always worked well on my old laptop (sony vista) as I was never prompted that it was a virus when installing it/playing it etc. It always worked flawlessly. But now after several attempts of wanting to add it to my vst collection using windows 10 (64bit) well I always get a message off my avg telling me its a trojan horse and well I am always careful (naturally) when installing stuff.; so everytime I see that message I have to delete it. But it cracks me up so much as I absolutely love it and have always, well on my old laptop always enjoyed playing it. I know there is such a thing about false positives regarding avg/avast/ whathaveyou. But yeh what do you peeps think. Is it a false positive (or) should I just leave well alone.

Also something else that has been bugging the hell out of me. I see Reaktor 6 is out now and am baffled about the asking price being £169. Here is the link anyway http://www.native-instruments.com/en...ths/reaktor-6/ When I had my old laptop I could never use the demo player as I had vista then. But now since having my new computer and using the player and getting a real kick out of the ensembles donated by the community I want the full package really bad now (time of demo use ended yesterday :frown But am confused as when I would always read about it on my old laptop I remember Reaktor 5 always being around the £500 price mark and now I see Reaktor 6 going for £169? Am I missing something here? Do I have to own Reaktor 5 first to own Reaktor 6 or can I just buy Reaktor 6 and have all them lavvly 70 instruments that come with it. Reaktor 6 is the full package right? I have tried reading about such stuff online but gets frustrating trying to find exactly what it is I want to know about Reaktor 6. So thought well why don't you just ask in AO rich.

    Cheers

I've had arptron installed on my Win XP and Win 7 systems for the last 6 years or so. No problems here, but I don't run AVG. If you put the search string "arptron avg" into google you will get some informative results.

Yeah, that's the price for the full Reaktor 6! NI has lowered the price on Reaktor I'm not sure when they did that. I picked up Reaktor 5 in 2013 for $99 US when it was on sale, and upgraded to Reaktor 6 for $99 US late last year, so I'm still out the current price for Reaktor 6 - $199 US. I have not even come close to exploring all of the factory content. And the user library is a wonderland! Especially recently for Blocks!!

Ahhh thank you so much Windm8 That is such a lovely breath of fresh air to know. Absolutely fantastic stuff. Now I can start saving my pennies as I really want that Reaktor 6 really bad man. Its a whopping piece of kit. But the update that comes with it for £89.00; well now am wondering if it be ok to just buy Reaktor 6 on its own and then get the update later on. Hm. and furthermore what is the update for? Like do I still get all them 70 instruments for the asking price without the price for the update to. But yeh cheers for that :tu:

@seismic. Yeh nice 1 for the feedback seislad. That Arptron is a corking instrument especially being a free one to. I did try the search string for 'arptron avg' but nothing really appearerd in the results; Btw I switched off my avg and it worked a real treat without that 'false positive' showing its ugly head; but it never worked like the way it did on my old laptop; just lots of very high frequency noise which I know from past experience of using it, thats not its normal behavior when first loading it up. But there is plenty more free stuff out there.

        Thanks for the input guys
        Appreciated..

I'm sorry if I was confusing, if you buy the full version now for £169, you will not have to get any update.

Hey no sorries allowed m8. Your original post was bang on and gave me the piece of mind I needed; also cheers for that crucial bit of information as well.

I love Reaktor 6 so much and now that I want it so bad it hurts in me. And where you quote how the user library is a wonderland; well to me that's exactly what the donated ensembles are as well that were made by the community. Spanning years back as well. Am sure I saw an ensemble quote its last update around 16 years ago. Mind blowing stuff. Every time I used the demo player Reaktor was burning in me like I was becoming part of it; like I wanted it more and then BAM!! demo player ended :frown: I got a good buzz out of it though.

Cheers again for your input: Means a lot :tu:

NI often have summer sales so if you're going to be saving for a bit then then there could well be a discount in the coming months. Pretty sure Reaktor was £99 in the last sale.

I'm still on R5 at the moment, didn't get around to updating to R6 last winter so hanging fire in case a sale pops up soon...

I'm still on Reaktor5 too. This thing is very deep. It features on my next track.

I think a Reactor ensemble ends up in just about everything I do.

But, yeah, I'd probably never get to the bottom of R5 as it is...
