  • I'm still here!

I'm very busy learning a new DAW so I am way behind on my social duties at AO.

I will rectify that in the new year and I'll be back to catch up on everything...

(might be going to Spain for three to four weeks so I can't guarantee I'll get a decent connection...)

    cheers

Studio One 3 Pro Tim. It's not bad at all. A few features away from SONAR but nothing that is going to stop the show

            i wondered where you were!

how is the DAW? Is it a steep learning curve? I have one of he froot loops on my pc which i haven't touched but it looks great and it would make me create a whole different sound.

              Hiya Phil

DAW is pretty good, thanks... Nearly as good as SONAR, although that is what I grew up with so most DAW out there will struggle to get close, only because I have been using it for so long.

Reaper is good, to, but one of the good things about Studio One is that you don't have the ability to mess too much with customising it whereas Reaper is just too customise-able for my liking.

I have Studio One v3 installed here. One day I'll do something serious with it, but probably not until I have to stop using Ext2.7

Switched from PT to Studio One years back. Told this story several times years back too.

Damn timeloops; best dial down the feedback on my time machine.

I understand all about that! I just got tired of having to learn new software every time I wanted a new way to record, mix or master, so I went back to the traditional hardware recording method for the most part, with hardware synths- although from time to time I like to mix it up and use DAW and soft synths in conjunction with my equipment! This year's new year resolution- I'm going to get back into guitar stuff and buy some stomp boxes! My Crybaby is badly in need of repair or replacement, and I need some good foot pedals for making ambient guitar! Anyway, Happy New Year, Andy! Hope you had a great Christmas!
