2i2 or 2i4

I'm thinking of buying one of these, initially for recording guitar/bass. I'll be using 2 Ibbys with humbuckers, A Squier Jazz bass active, and a Strat. I have a feeling that the 2i4 would be better suited to the mixture of single-coil/humbuckers.

Anybody got any opinions/experience on/with this hardware?

I've got the 2i4 and the quality seems fine to me. No idea what the difference is with the 2i2, but I use mine for guitar and plug a mic into it for vocals (the piece I did with Harriet a while ago)

One difference between the units is 2i4 has MIDI in/out, 2i2 does not.
