NI Skanner XT

I bought XT about a year ago, and have only recently started to use it. I have to say that some of the sounds that it produces are great for ambient. I used it for the "flute" lead on Paraxial. Hopefully, I can use it on the next AOC track.

I've got the regular Skanner but haven't got into it enough to get anything useful out yet. I'll have to take a second look at some point. XT has more presets and effects? I can't recall.

Hey Phase, yah I think the XT version comes with more presets. It also comes with quite a few wave files to skan*

overall though it really seems to share the same features.

Yah I think it's pretty cool how you can load your own sounds in. It sure is a strange one though, some of the sounds are extremely useable , however some of them are really not so useable and require a bit of tweaking.

You said it! I was actually going to say something along those lines...but wouldn't want to persuade anyone else not to buy it if they are interested. There are some truly odd sounds that come out of this synth...but hey, if odd is your thing...I don't see why not!!! :razz:

Actually, I bought it! I've already used it in two tracks. What a strange beast it is...in a good way of course. I still don't feel like I "know" it yet...but I'm sure the more I mess with it and try out new stuff I'll start to feel more comfortable.

So I was out to lunch with my producer friend from LA yesterday and he was talking about how great NI's "Skanner XT" was. Do any of you guys use it? Too bad it's not included in Komplete 8 but considering it's only $49 it's not that bad of a deal...IF it's as powerful and as useful as he says it is.

Thoughts?
