  • Best DAW for MIDI?

    Hi all,
I've decided to really start using some of the synths that are just lying about on my hard drive and wondered which DAW is best for MIDI recording etc, you know, ease of use, recording and editing. Anyway, looking forward to your replies

Personally, I like Cubase. It has great MIDI edit features, including MIDI inserts, and has retroactive record that captures all your MIDI playing even when your not recording. I think Logic also has this feature. Probably the worst IMO, is Presonus Studio One. It does all the basics, but MIDI routing can be very painful.

I used Cubase for years and it has very good MIDI implementation, but I've been using Sonar for years now and prefer it for my MIDI heavy projects. It's got a very good editor, step sequencer, instrument definitions, etc. I don't think you can go wrong with Sonar or Cubase.
