  • Ambient "Desert Island Kit"

You have to survive artistically on desert island. You can have hardware (because you have enough solar panels to run it).
It can be hardware synth, it can be computer.
Now you have to choose your "desert island kit" for making ambient.

Only one hardware AND software synth.
Only one hardware AND software effect.
Only one soundware (if you choose to survive with computer)

It is assumed that DAW of your choice and microphone/portable recorder survived as well.

    My kit is:
    Synth: iZotope Iris
    Effect: Voxengo Pristine Space
    Soundware: Audiobulb Ambient

    What are your kits?

Probably nothing like that. If I was really on a desert island I think I'd prefer to have some acoustic instruments. If it had to be 3 I think it would be an acoustic guitar (assuming I had a bucket of spare strings too), a flute of some kind, and a diatonic harmonica.

I'm gonna have to change my soft synth to Absynth 5, I love this synth, so much so that I wrote the entirety of my last album with it.

Well, if it is going to be a real desert island, I want to change all mine to edible gear.

I was trapped on a desert island for 14 years. I had to eat my Prophet V and several stomp boxes.

No matter how long they were boiled, they still were tough to chew.

I think this works within the confines of the rules:

An acoustic guitar and an OP-1.
