Post SoundCloud and Bandcamp Widgets (obsolete)

Posting SoundCloud widgets is easy. You can put your SoundCloud links within the sc BBCode:

[sc]LinkToYourTrack[/sc]

For SoundCloud, you can also just paste your link in your post, highlight it, and hit the SoundCloud button in the menu above this window.

It looks like this:

[sc]http://soundcloud.com/daxix/interlude[/sc]

http://soundcloud.com/daxix/interlude


Bandcamp is quite a bit more involved. A Bandcamp link looks like this:

[bc=AlbumOrTrackNumber]LinkToYourTrackOrAlbum[/bc]

You can find the Album or Track Number when you click on the Share link within Bandcamp to get the widget link. There's only one thing you need from that link, the Track or Album Number.

The Album Number in this case is shown here:

album=1157494359

Paste ONLY the number (1157494359), not the whole string.

Then go to your Album or Track page, highlight the link in the address bar, copy, and past that between the ] and [/ brackets.

Using the Widget link above, it would look like this:

[bc=1157494359]http://daxix.bandcamp.com/album/beyond-the-night-sky[/bc]

If you want to post raw BBCode, use the [bbcode] tag.

Thank's for checking this, in the instructions it says: album or track ID, but maybe you're right and it currently only works for albums, not single tracks. Still strange though.

Hi there. The releases that I have are hosted on other bandcamp sites so in the addressbar of those releases, I don't see that album number string for posting a bandcamp widget. I'm guessing that it will be easier for me to just post links of my music in different topics?

Update - I can't see a way of posting individual bandcamp tracks here, but the method for posting albums seems to be simpler than the method detailed above. Try this procedure:-

On your bandcamp album page, click on the Share/Embed control and then click on the "Embed this Album" control which appears in the resulting dialog. Click on any style in the resulting style selector (it doesn't matter which). Get hold of the album id from within the embed code.

you will need the following syntax to create a link to your album

[bc=AlbumNumber]AlbumNumber[/bc]

I just fixed your Bandcamp link in the other thread. The album number for your track was a 10-digit integer. I have never been able to post individual tracks here.
