Watched the first video...noticed right away that he's using the "submix" technique that I mentioned in my own mixing tutorial...nice! Some very good tips in here...bookmarked and will be going back to them in the coming days.

Yes, I noticed that also it is a good technique, what I usually do though is to write (and mix, as I do this continuously as I write) at a peak level of about -14dB (look into Bob Katz's "K-System") and has my monitors tuned so that -14 is a pleasant listening level. this way I will have to work pretty hard if I am to get the master to clip problem with this way is that the level is always tuned for low volume audio, and not all audio out there is peaking at -14, -12 dB...

So I tried this out. I only watched a part of all these videos but the results are amazing :listening:

On my last track I turned the master channel to mono during the whole creation- an mixing-process of the track.
At the end when I came to mastering I turned it back to stereo ... and wow!

It's really worth to try it out :thumbsup:

Not sure if you joined the site to be able to watch the videos? Anyway, the videos are public and the good thing is: the series got expanded with two extra series so there's 90+ video's to watch now. I have to admit: not everything is applicable (or less) to ambient but there is some nice advice to be found.

I did the same:-) ANd got a bunch of emails each day. But its great stuff though and quite simple to implement.

Yeah, I unsubbed from the list eventually, but the guy does know what he is talking about--he just talks an awful lot about it. :biggrin:
