  • Coming soon on patchpool: Resurrection for Alchemy 2 - pre-order now

I just released my first library for Alchemy 2:

Resurrection for Alchemy 2 contains a broad range of top notch meticulously crafted presets with the focus on as much sonic diversity possible. The 98 patches (x8 snapshots in Alchemy's remix pad) make extensive use of the new features introduced in version 2, like the new spectral and additive re-synthesis and spectral morphing, the improved granulator with multiple grain streams, FM synthesis, and the extended FX section with 4 independent effect racks and convolution reverb.

Multisampled instruments like water-bells, stick cello, marching drum and other percussion sounds meet an array of resynthesized acoustic sounds - also mult-sampled - like flute, violin, trombone,
harp, chimes, e-bowed guitar, psaltery and mandolin or bowed metallophones and are often layered with electronic textures also derived from re-synthesized images. Lush pads, haunting and enchanting
soundscapes, massive drones, expressive fantasy instruments, fascinating morph-textures, playful and groovy sequencers and intricate rhythmical textures compose a versatile collection of new sounds applicable in all kinds of genres, from ambient to new-age to electronica, world-fusion, science-fiction and soundtrack work.

Complex modulation routings and controller assignments enable the user to deeply interact with the sounds and shape them according to his/her needs.

You can view/download the PDF for this library with more details, the license agreement and the patchlist, including playing tips and short descriptions here.

    Specs:

    • *98 patches (x8 snapshots in Alchemy's remix pad).

    • *1.88 GB of original samples (wav/stereo/48 Khz/24 Bit), some samples were borrowed from other patchpool libraries.
*All acoustic samples were recorded in L-C-R using three Neumann mics, all signals were phase-aligned.
      *1.22 GB of re-synthesized samples (spectral/additive in Alchemy's aaz.-format).
*Library size in total: 3.1 GB uncompressed.
*Delivery: download - compressed RAR-archive in 3 parts for better download handling.
      *Price (paypal): € 48 EUR

NOTE: This sound library requires Alchemy 2 inside LogicX.

Two fresh patches from Resurrection in this track. Depending on the source material, the new spectral resynthesis algos can produce really good results. I was pleased how organic the resynthesized cello pizz phrases in one of these patches sounded, and what you can do with them in the formant section, drastically changing the timbres with controllers and LFOs. Also the new FX send and filter routings offer plenty of options for more complex patches.

100% Alchemy 2, some volume automation, nothing else.

Three fresh patches in this track - Djembe Bass meets Timpani Synth meets Ambient Smoothie. After a few days I totally feel at home with the new Alchemy

Here is an impro demo for the patch Spectral Flautato, using multi-sampled violin flautatos in spectral resynthesis mode. The great thing in Alchemy 2 is that we can now use as many spectralized sources in an oscillator/source as we want, in version 1 there was only 1 spectral or additive (or both) sample source per oscillator possible. This gets rid of all the artifacts when transposing resynthesized sounds, juts like in a normal sampler or granulator. Very cool indeed!

This patch morphs between two re-synthesized spectral sources, a bamboo chime texture and a bowed crotales note with a long decay:

This patch uses spectral auto morphing (LFO-controlled) between 4 sources: an expressive cello note, a trombone wahwah sound and two vocal overtone transitions (male and female), quite amazing what this combo morphs into  - some comb-filtering applied as well.

Two fresh patches from Resurrection, the lead sound is using spectral morphing between an E-bow and a flute sound. Alchemy 2 does rock!

Amongst other things I sample some water bells today, 5 different bell sizes drowned in the bathtub, which creates very interesting glissandi and warped bell sounds, there will be multi-sampled patches with round robin and velocity layser, but this patch uses a very long bell scape with already somewhat processed bell textures distributed over 4 morphable sources in Alchemy 2.

This patch uses additive re-synthesis of 2 images I made with ArtMatic which produces some awesome sounds if you take the time to adjust the re-synthesized data somewhat in the additive editors. Morphing between the snapshots in the video in several passes, the patch is set to morphing between the 2 sources.

Improvising with a patch named Granular Sine Drone, 3 long (multi)samples in granular mode with zone crossfade, the automation was recorded together with the music:

A multi-sampled marching drum patch, hits played wits 2 different mallets at 3 velocities and 6x round robin, stick on the rim with 6x round robin, all sorts of filter+pitch FX can be dialed in for each sound.

Three fresh patches in a slightly futuristic ambient sort of groove track with some soundtrack-ish sort of influence, sort of:

Improvising with the patch “Additive Bass Flute“, in this case the additive re-synthesis of multisampled bass flute swells and decays works really well and produces some lovely timbres:
