  • 1001 albums you must hear before you die generator

found out about this a while ago. every day (weekends only included if you choose so under "optional settings"), you get one random album from the book "1001 albums you must hear before you die". it's been around two weeks since i started and i found some great stuff, including albums/artists i've been meaning to get into a long while ago (for example, today i got kraftwerk's "autobahn").

    check it out here: https://1001albumsgenerator.com/
I don't know who I am, but I'm still alive.

Well, funny thing, but simple and a bit boring. It gave me Hendrix. Wow, next one will be propably Pink Floyd and Queen. Maybe idea is cool but why should I listen to something that at first, everybody heard thousands times in radio, secondly, it is totally out of my tastes. This "platform" would be amazing if there was an option to add your own tastes. Maybe then it would recommend me loscil, or basinski instead of boomer rock. Don't misunderstand me, I don't say that on example Queen didn't put his brick in music history, but everyone knows that brick, and no one really needs to know Queen's album If he just don't enjoy them

i believe you can choose specific genres under optional settings before you start, but i'm not sure if you can do that after starting. so far i got a few of those "ultra classic rock" albums/bands, but also electronic/r&b/reggae and other genres, and a few rock albums i'd never heard of before as well. i guess this "hit and miss" style is to be expected when there's 1001 albums to draw from
