Wow, thanks for putting this list together! I knew about Star's End and Hearts of Space but that's it. I will definitely check out some of these programs.

Another decent show is Echoes with John Diliberto. He plays a lot of ambient music but he also plays other genres like new age and indie. It's been a while since I listened to it though.

Happy you came to see this. I like automated net-radio ambient stations too, but I do prefer a DJ/ Show host as in Diliberta and Chuck van Zyl.
I live in Philadelphia, home of Stars End and know of John Diliberta. He was host here in Philly WXPN of Stars End and Diaspar before Chuck took o.
I didn't include Echoes into my list because I don't like the show. I'm happy he does it, but it's just too new age for my taste. It's like 'easy listening'.
Last I listened was when he interviewed S1gns concerning 'Source Transmission'.

The show from Finland is funny to listen to. He has a good show every week. I can't understand a word he says except when he names someone and the album name. Then I know.
I was recording many shows and listening later, until my back-catalog just about filled my drive! It was obsessive. Be careful, since your an 'ambient-addict'. haha

Yes you may have sent me down the rabbit hole, lol. I agree with you about Echoes, it's not a really ambient focused show but there are occasionally some good gems. It's pretty hit or miss though. I'll have to tune in to "Avaruusromua" tomorrow however!

Do you ever go to The Gatherings concerts since you live in Philly? I drove up there last year to see Loscil, Benoit Pioulard, and Hotel Neon and this year for Robert Rich's sleep concert. The sleep concert was broadcast live on Star's End I think. I might go again to see Hotel Neon in September.

Sorry for the delay...delay due to lack of reply notifications @ AO.
Yes, I used to go to the gatherings shows now and then for yrs. Since I can rarely see what the performer is doing and I hate those hard church pews, I stopped going.
The sound is not what I'd call very good either.

Wow you did the Rich sleepover! I have a copy of that recording from XPN is you want it.
Where are you from? Yes Hotel Neon in Sept. I'll think about that.

Last few weeks Avaruusromua hasn't auto-recorded on my machine. There might have been a program time change...i'll look into that.
Last nights "Into The Deep' (2nd half-ambient) was excellent. (in a few mins I'll post a download link here for you! )

I live near DC so it's about a 2.5 to 3 hour drive, but it's worth it since DC doesn't have much of an ambient music "scene". The pews are indeed quite uncomfortable, so next time I will have to remember to bring a cushion or pillow!

The sleep concert was an amazing and unique experience. To be honest, I barely slept at all during the 8 hours. At first it bothered me that I couldn't fall asleep. I think it was difficult because the environment was so different from what I'm used to when I sleep. However, I would just allow myself to be relaxed and take in the music and occasionally I would drift off for brief periods. When the concert ended at 8 am, I surprisingly felt more well-rested than I do after a good night's sleep. My one complaint was that the building was very old with creaky wooden floors, so I could always hear people walking to go to the bathroom throughout the night.

Thanks for the download of Into the Deep! Listening to it now. I would love a copy of the sleep concert recording too if it's possible to upload.

Maybe it's because I was raise Jewish I don't have much pew experience, but even with a seat cushion, sitting for a few hrs in a pew makes me extremely antsy. haha

Although the show after it plays soft but really annoying music which always wakes me up quickly grabbing the remote and shutting off the radio. haha Do you receive Star's End over air? My one complaint was that the building was very old with creaky wooden floors, so I could always hear people walking to go to the bathroom throughout the night.I can sympathize with you, squeaky floors are the worst. I lived in a loft warehouse with a neighbor above me with all wood latted floors.

Thanks for the download of Into the Deep! Listening to it now.No trouble at all. I'm glad I could share this especially good show this week with someone who understands and appreciates the music. I would love a copy of the sleep concert recording too if it's possible to upload.Sure, I can do that.Just under 7 hrs of it.

                  Thanks for that John!
Night Tides added. I don't have Soma because everybody knows about it, and it's not really over-air hosted radio.
I do include Stillstreams over-net only because they do have DJs streaming from home at night, and that's cool with me.
I will look into Radio Spiral.net though.
                  Thanks again John.

                            Hi,

Its been a while since the first post, but just in case people still reading. Theres a london based internet radio station at

                            https://www.nts.live/

you press explore and search for genres, and also artist. The shows are archived and can be listened to anytime. I think Kranky and many others have monthly slots.. might be worth checking out if interested !
